Intercambio escolar del alumno del Deutsche Schule San Alberto Magno, Pedro Gabilondo, en XantenHaving one and a half months left to finish my school year in the European Class in Xanten, it is quite difficult to sum up all the new experiences that I have had during this year.

In this second half-term, I am living in a new host family. We live in Hamb which is a very very small town with roughly 800 inhabitants, and it is by car 15 Minutes away from Xanten. The life here is rural and quiet, and the people are very nice. THe family is very nice as well and they care a lot about me. They also take me everywhere I need to go (training, football matches, parties…) and that makes everything easier. Moreover, I have been with the family at the 24 hours race in Nürburgring or visiting the Chocolate Museum in Köln.

Two weeks ago I finished the football league with my club and we are going to do a “end of season trip” to the Netherlands. A part from football, I have also participated in some track and field competitions and have played some tennis tournaments.

With the European Class I have done a lot of activities: we celebrated carnaval together, we were jumping in the bouncing beds and we have been many times to the lake. But the best one for me was a day trip that we did to London. We visited the city in the morning and in the evening we were at a musical (Thriller).

Intercambio escolar del alumno del Deutsche Schule San Alberto Magno, Pedro Gabilondo, en Xanten I also want to add that I have made the best friendships through the sport clubs (football, track and field and tennis) where I am.

That is why I advise the next students that will come here, to do as many activities as they can.

Cheers and see you next year at school
